Save a Life Day, which began in two West Virginia counties in 2020, will reach at least 32 states and 343 counties this year. The event, led by SOAR WV and dozens of partners, aims to distribute tens of thousands of free naloxone doses on September 26.

“Save a Life Day is about new beginnings in more ways than one. It’s about second chances for communities, not just individuals.”
Joe Solomon, SOAR WV Co-Director

“We all want to help people just like us and also people not like us.”
Caroline Wilson, SOAR WV Save a Life Day Coordinator

“What makes those really unique is that if anyone has any shame [about drug use] there’s nobody waiting at the box to ask them questions.”
Sarah Stone, SOAR WV Co-Director
