Art. Stories. Real life.
The SOAR Zine is a space for people impacted by drug use—whether you use, love someone who does, or have lived through loss—to share your truth through art and story.
We’re building something honest, homemade, and totally real. It could be poetry, painting, a memory, a rant, a collage, or even just sitting down with someone who helps put your experience into words. Whatever form it takes, your voice matters—and there’s room for it here.
Want to express something?
Want to create or just be part of the process?
We’d love to have you in it.
Reach out and let’s make something together.
💬 What’s a zine?
A zine is like a DIY magazine—handmade, uncensored, raw. It’s been used by artists, punks, activists, and everyday folks to tell their own stories, outside the mainstream.
With support from the Appalachian Community Fund, this project first came to life thanks to SOAR organizers Hunter Starks and Kandi Workman, who helped gather the first voices and images from participants of the Mutual Aid Fairs.
