Community Cleanup with Compassion

The Unstuck Chuck program brings together housed and unhoused neighbors to care for our streets and alleys—because everyone deserves to live in a clean, safe community.

On the 4th Saturday of each month, volunteers join forces to pick up trash, safely collect syringes and sharps, and log syringe litter to help guide public health and cleanup efforts. Our focus is on Charleston, but we’ve responded to requests in surrounding areas too.

This work isn’t just about cleaning up—it’s about connection, care, and creating the kind of community we all want to live in.

Unstuck Chuck and friends have helped keep Charleston streets clean and safe since 2022. We are especially grateful to the Mel Wolfe Foundation for powering this pilot program.
