A new naloxone box is now open in the lobby of CAMC General Hospital, offering free access to life-saving Narcan with no questions asked. This makes it the fifth box in Charleston and one of many across West Virginia helping expand access to overdose prevention tools.
🧊 Why This Box Matters
Ashley Murphy, Director of Addiction Services at CAMC Vandalia Health, helped lead the effort, calling the new resource “a valuable tool made for the whole community.”
“Take what you need. If you have a loved one who’s struggling or just want to be prepared, we want everyone to have an opportunity to live.” — Ashley Murphy
🤝 A Community Effort

💬 A Personal Mission
SOAR’s own Sarah Stone shared her experience of losing her brother to an overdose—reminding us that overdose prevention is personal, urgent, and ongoing:
“These boxes are everything. No forms. No judgment. Just life-saving medication when someone needs it. Even one life lost is too many. We’re working until that number is zero.” — Sarah Stone
